When I got my 23 Touring in January, 2002, first thing I did was open the inspection door and check the transmission drums.  At little surprise, I found that the reverse drum was cracked (Figure 1).  Too many panic stops by previous owners. Since the transmission really wobbled when grasped, pulled, and pushed, I decided to take it off and rebuild. Disassembly found the wobble was attributed to a REALLY Worn triple gear bushing (Figure 2).
