The seat support box on my wife's1924 Roadster was really beat.  Rather than cutting and welding in patches, I decided to get a replacement part from Howell's Sheetmetal in Nederland, TX ( www.fordor.com ).  The part number is S-123 and current cost is $55.00.

This is the original front and side seat support as removed from the car.

Detail - front of seat support - The only things missing are holes drilled for the screws.

Above is a picture of the original side supports. Note they are riveted to the front support.

Detail of side supports.  Howell's have the holes in the correct location.

Layout of old and new seatboxes.  Howell's ship them separately and you will need to rivet them together.

Layout of pieces of new seatbox.

All and all, the seat box support is spot on.  A few holes will need drilling, and riveting, but those are minor details that even the backyard mechanic can accomplish with readily available tools.
